About Beans
Beans was admitted in our care as an injured stray cat back in May after being transferred to the USPCA from another vet practice due to sustaining extensive degloving injuries to both his hindlimbs after being hit by a car. Degloving injuries cause the skin and soft tissue to be ripped away from the underlying structure and can be difficult to treat.
Upon admission, our vet team thoroughly cleaned, flushed and debrided the wounds, some of which were so extensive that the skin was non-viable. One flap of skin was preserved as best as could be by our vets however sadly, one of Bean's toes was beyond repair and had to be removed.
The vet team began the lengthy process of treatment and rehabilitation for Beans' injuries. Initially, Beans had both of his wounds dressed daily under sedation. After weeks of dressings, and care from our amazing vet team, Beans wounds are now nearly fully healed and he is ready to start finding his forever home!
Despite having a rough start in our care, Beans is a very sweet boy, he is super sweet and affectionate and has such a lovable nature that never fails to brighten anyone's day here at the centre.
He adores getting fuss and attention and loves to know people are nearby. He would love a home where he can spend his days both indoors, snoozing in a comfy spot in the sun, and outdoors, exploring the outside world.
